OK, kids, here's one for the books. I was friended on Facebook by a girlfriend's DOG. Which is weird, because I am not a dog person. And because I didn't know dogs could type passwords with their paws.
OK, so I'll bite. What exactly has this dog been up to...
Let's see - his profile states that he's an Executive Director of Barketing. He studied Chasing Rabbits, at the School of Hard Knocks, University of Life. And he's got 108 friends, ironically, none of which is a dog. What's disturbing is that we actually have two mutual friends.
Favorite book - "Marley and Me." Favorite movie - "Marley & Me." Favorite TV show - "Animal Cops." Hmm.
Looks like his parents must have split up, as he's back and forth between Mommy and Daddy's places. Can't really figure out who's got primary custody, but both parents are "friends" so I'm guessing it's - well - friendly.
Lots of posts on his wall, and he's a pretty good typist and speller - needs a little work on punctuation. But I imagine commas and apostrophes all just look like crumbs on the keyboard to him.
There's a picture posted of him sleeping on his desk. I don't know much about Barketing, but I imagine sleeping is part of the job. As is eating, going outside, chewing up sensitive documents before they go out to the trash collector, and then chasing them down the street a few blocks. Just a guess.
Like most Facebook posts, the dog's status updates are pretty mundane. Looks like he had a birthday back in June. And recently had a bath and haircut. Although it's a little interesting that they used a sugar cookie cologne on him. And that he was shooting a corporate video right after.
Here's a post from a dog owner asking if this dog is single, married or in a relationship. Ah - he answered back. Single. This is good, because now he doesn't have to open an account with Match.com.
Now this is interesting: He had 13 baby teeth pulled because his big boy teeth were already in. He's doing pretty well to post after all that, because I know when I got my wisdom teeth out, there was no way I could type.
He likes Lance Armstrong, the Carolina Panthers, the Dallas Cowboys and the Canine Café. And soccer. And his stuffed Duckie.
I'm impressed. This dog has his act together - full-time job, splitting time between two parents, obviously very popular, and he posted a really good poem about chasing rabbits.
And he's current. I mean, how many dogs do you know that take this sort of initiative to create a networking site and stay connected? And he's social - looks like he's trying to get a group together to go out for Yappy Hour. Canine Café.
Maybe I'll go.
