A few wrecks reported in Charlotte

By Steve Lyttle
slyttle@charlotteobserver.com

No problems have been reported so far this Friday morning on interstate highways in the Charlotte region.

But collisions are causing problems on some other major roads.

At 8:15 a.m., police report a collision on Lawyers Road at Spicewood Drive. That is a short distance from Lebanon Road, near the Charlotte-Mint Hill line.

Another problem is in south Charlotte, at Park and Tyvola roads. Police say traffic signals are not working at that intersection.

All travel lanes are open on interstate and other key highways, according to police reports.

The weather is good, with clear skies and temperatures in the upper 30s. Forecasters say we'll have another nice day across the Charlotte area, with plenty of sunshine and highs in the lower 60s. That's several degrees cooler than Thursday's 70-degree readings, but it's still well above the average high for this time of year.
