Pine Lake Preparatory senior Kimberly Abrams has been recognized by the National Center for Women & Information Technology for her leadership in the community and her interest in computer science.
This year she won the National Award, for which 35 of 1,177 applications were selected. Diana Gomez, a junior at Pine Lake, was one of 200 people to be named a national runner-up, due to her achievements in digital art and animation, as well as engineering and computer mentoring. Kimberly and Diana are teammates in the FIRST Robotics Competition.
NCWIT seeks to inspired young women to major in technological fields.
