The man wanted in connection with the beating of a woman and her teen-age son has been captured in Myrtle Beach, according to the York County Sheriff's Office.

Danny Ray Pittman was found at a mobile home park and arrested by Horry County Police late Thursday night, the sheriff's office says. Investigators say he faces charges in Horry County, so they aren't sure when he will be returned to York County.

Pittman was wanted in connection with the Wednesday evening attack on Kimberly Dawn Faile-Bryant, 35, and her son. The two were severely beaten at their home, on Elder Road near Rock Hill.

Both victims were airlifted to Carolinas Medical Center, and family members told reporters that the son's head injuries are very serious. Faile-Bryant was in stable condition and her son in critical condition Friday.

The 16-year-old's grandmother, Ethel Faile, said the teen faces numerous medical problems.

"The doctor said he's probably going to keep having stroke after stroke, and seizure after seizure," Faile told NewsChannel 36, the Observer's news partner.

Witnesses told deputies that Pittman, who was Faile-Bryant's boyfriend, was in the house at the time of the beatings. The mother's 11-year-old daughter also was in the house at the time and contacted authorities.

Deputies said the mother's car, a 2006 blue Kia, was missing from the family home. That car was found Thursday night with Pittman, deputies say.

Pittman remained jailed Friday at the J. Reuben Long Detention Center, near Conway in Horry County. He is charged there with third-degree assault and damage to property. Pittman faces charges in York County of attempted murder.
