Fire displaces S. Charlotte residents

By Meghan Cooke

Residents in a south Charlotte condo building were displaced Saturday afternoon after a two-alarm fire.

Charlotte firefighters said around 4:30 p.m. that they found fire and smoke coming from a condo in the 6700 block of Constitution Lane, located off Sharon Road and not far from Quail Hollow Country Club.

It took more than 40 firefighters about an hour to bring the fire under control, firefighters said.

It's unclear what might have caused the blaze. Multiple people were displaced, firefighters said, but no injuries were reported.
