A 15-year-old and her boyfriend face charges after Kings Mountain police said the pair assaulted the girl's mother and another man.
Edward Eugene Ruff, Jr., 19, has been charged with two counts of assault with a deadly weapon, conspiracy to commit assault and injury to personal property. He is being held in the Cleveland County jail under a $500,000 secured bond.
The 15-year-old female also faces a charge of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury, along with a conspiracy charge. Her name has not been released because she is a minor, and she's currently in the custody of the state Department of Juvenile Justice.
Kings Mountain said they were called to a home on Second Street around 5 a.m. Sunday, where they found two people had been assaulted with a metal object.
Both were taken to the hospital, where a female victim was treated and released with minor injuries.
But a male victim is in critical, but stable condition at Carolinas Medical Center. Authorities said he suffered several blows to the head from the metal object.
Police said they later determined the woman's daughter and her boyfriend were responsible for the assault.
Additional charges could be filed in the case.
