Two men face several charges in connection with a Caldwell County drug bust, the sheriff's office says.
One of those charged in the case was arrested on drug charges just four months ago.
Investigators say Jerry Lee Lail and Jimmy Dean Woods were arrested Friday, following an investigation that actually was a follow-up to Lail's arrest in October. Deputies say they were conducting surveillance on Lail's home, on Brandy Place in Granite Falls, and noticed Woods arriving there.
Deputies stopped Woods after he left the house and said they found cocaine in his vehicle. Woods told investigators he had bought the cocaine from Lail, deputies say. Armed with a search warrant, investigators said they found cocaine, drug paraphernalia and cash in Lail's home.
Both Lail, 62, and Woods, 54, who is from Hickory, were charged with felony counts of possession with intent to sell or deliver cocaine; and maintaining a dwelling to keep or store a controlled substance.
