The third teen-age girl wanted in connection with Friday night's alleged carjacking and police chase through uptown streets in Charlotte surrendered to Charlotte-Mecklenburg police Monday evening, police say.

Cherish Moise, 16, had been sought by police after she allegedly ran from the site where the chase ended, on East Trade Street near the Transportation Center and Time-Warner Cable Arena.

Police say three girls carjacked a 2006 Chevrolet Malibu at gunpoint early Friday evening on Farmhurst Drive in southwest Charlotte. A vehicle fitting the description of the stolen car was spotted by the N.C. Highway Patrol a short time later on northbound Interstate 77.

Troopers began pursuing the vehicle, and the chase eventually moved to uptown streets. The car crashed into a tree on East Trade Street, and police arrested two teens at the site. The two girls were juveniles, police say.

Moise, like the two other girls, faces felony charges of common law robbery and conspiracy. She is being held under $20,000 bond.
