Authorities say they discovered nearly $67,000 worth of drugs inside a van Friday morning when they stopped the driver for speeding in Iredell County.

Just before 7 a.m. Friday, deputies in the Iredell County Sheriff's Office Interstate Criminal Enforcement Team spotted a 2011 Chrysler van speeding along northbound Interstate 77.

When they stopped the vehicle, authorities searched the van and found about 440 grams of cocaine with a street value of $66,000, according to the Sheriff's Office. They also discovered 184 grams of marijuana worth $920.

Authorities charged 45-year-old Lesepth McDonald Foster of Hollywood, Fla., with trafficking cocaine by possession and transportation, as well as felony possession of marijuana.

Foster was being held Friday in Iredell County jail.
