Fire at Charlotte home displaces family

Observer staff reports

A fire at a home northeast of Charlotte's uptown displaced the family who lives there this evening.

Charlotte firefighters were called around 6:20 p.m. to a house on Leigh Avenue, located between the Villa Heights and NoDa neighborhoods.

More than 30 firefighters arrived at the home to bring the blaze under control in about 40 minutes, according to Charlotte Fire Capt. Rob Brisley.

A family was displaced, but no injuries were reported.
