Kendrion FAS Controls will add 57 jobs and invest $7.3 million as part of an expansion to its manufacturing plant in Shelby, state and company officials announced today.
The company makes electromagnetic systems for vehicles and other products. It currently has more than 200 employees at an 189,000 square foot facility on Airport Road in Shelby.
The average wage for the new jobs will be $32,544, plus benefits, according to a news release from the office of Gov. Bev Perdue. The states One North Carolina Fund gave a $228,000 grant as part of the economic development project.

Kendrion FAS Controls is a subsidiary of the German-based company, Kendrion Binder Magnete GmbH. The company acquired the Shelby plant in December 2011.
