State delegations will stay in 56 hotels from Concord to SouthPark during the Democratic National Convention in September.

North Carolina's delegation will stay in 186 rooms at the Crowne Plaza Uptown at 201 S. McDowell Street.

South Carolina has the Courtyard by Marriott-Billy Graham Parkway, near Charlotte Douglas International Airport.

California, the largest delegation, will be split among the Blake, Hampton Inn and Suites Uptown.

"We trust that all our delegations will be pleased with their assignments," Convention CEO Steve Kerrigan said, adding that delegations were notified yesterday.

The Democratic National Convention formally kicks off Sept. 4, but delegate receptions and events happen days before, including a Labor Day celebration at Charlotte Motor Speedway on Sept. 3

The Westin Charlotte and Hilton Center City hotels will share duties as DNC headquarters hotels.
