Play with the Force: New local indoor football team Carolina Force recently announced it will play its inaugural season in American Indoor Football. The team's home venue will be the Cabarrus Arena & Events Center in Concord. The team will have four home games at the arena between March and June and potential for three playoff games. Open tryouts begin at 1:45 p.m. Feb. 18 at Velocity Sports Performance, 10345 Nations Ford Road, Charlotte. League play will begin March 17 at home. The institute praised the 25-year-old's quick advancement, innovative ideas and commitment to service while overcoming cancer. The park program manager also is the youngest board member in the institute's 34-year history.ConcordMissing person: Concord police and the family of a missing teenage girl need help locating 15-year-old Latasha Charles, missing since Jan. 27. Also known as Natasha Fowler, the African- American female is about 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighs about 240 pounds. She has brown eyes and shoulder-length black hair.
