Khadiga Konsouh, a junior at Harding University High, is competing in the Exodus National Spelling Bee in hopes of winning the grand prize of $15,000.
“Winning the $15,000 grand prize would be a great relief,” Konsouh said. “I’m planning to go to an Ivy League school and I have four siblings who are also college-bound.”
She recently won $1,000 for winning the area competition against 21 students. If she wins the final in April, her school will also receive $10,000 toward academic improvement programs.
