N.C. State announces Park scholar finalists

N.C. State offers about 45 Park Scholarships to incoming freshmen each year, which include tuition, fees, room and board, enrichment activities and additional expenses for all four years at N.C. State.

Of 235 semifinalists, 105 finalists have recently been announced. They participated in a weekend of final selection activities Feb. 17-18 and the Park Scholars will be determined soon.

Finalists from Mecklenburg County are: Emily Baldrige from South Mecklenburg High, Jalen Feaster from Mallard Creek High, Isabel Fee from Rocky River High, Maggie Miller from Charlotte Catholic, Parth Shah from Ardrey Kell High and Marcel Souffrant from Charlotte Country Day.

Finalists from Union County are Dallas Clontz from Piedmont High and Bethany Faulkner from Union Academy Charter. Finalists from Gaston County are Anna Paschall from Highland School of Technology and Shelby Winchester from East Gaston High.

Other area finalists include Rebecca Woofter from Hendersonville High, Corey Ferguson from Lake Norman High and Melissa Pressley from Freedom High in Morganton.
