Phillip Anglade, Davidson Day: 27 points, 15 rebounds in 85-73 win over Gaston Day in the SPAA tournament championship game. Anglade was named tournament MVP. Teammate Rashun Davis had 20 points and made the all-tournament team. Davidson Day (28-3) starts NCISAA state tournament play Tuesday.
Donte' Clark, Kennedy Charter: Replacing Jalen White (abdominal strain) at point guard, finished with 25 points, eight assists, seven rebounds and three steals against Veritas Christian on Friday. Went for 22 points, six rebounds and six assists against Grace Academy on Tuesday.
Shelton Mitchell, Cuthbertson: 26 points, five rebounds, five assists in 68-53 win over Monroe in Rocky River championship game. Cuthbertson (26-1) has won 14 games in a row. Mitchell was named league player of the year.
Stephanie Watts, Weddington girls: Freshman broke school's single-season scoring record with 14 points in 49-43 loss to Parkwood in Southern Carolina championship. Her 18.3 scoring average is highest in school history. She also set school record for 3-pointers made in a season (70), in a game (eight) and blocked shots (52).
Jarvis Haywood, Harding: 26 points, five rebounds, three steals, three blocks in 61-55 overtime win over No. 1 Olympic.
Nick Schofield, Statesville: Made three 3-pointers from at least 22 feet in the third quarter of 71-50 North Piedmont tournament final win over West Rowan. Schofield finished with 24 points, 15 in the third quarter. It was Statesville's first tournament championship since 2004.
