S. Charlotte church pelted by paintballs

Members of a south Charlotte church believe children playing with paintball guns pelted their church.

The children were apparently playing paintball on the grounds of Nektarios Greek Orthodox Church off of Kuykendall Road between Providence and McKee roads and wound up hitting the building a number of times.

Churchgoers believe it was an accident.

"We feel it’s not anything directed against our church, and we feel it’s not representative of the children in this neighborhood," church member Stephen Flaherty told Observer news partner WCNC-TV.

Flaherty says he hopes the kids will take their paintball game into the woods instead of playing on church property.
