Charlotte-Mecklenburg police are continuing to investigate an apparent homicide Thursday night in northeast Charlotte.

Police say officers were called around 8:45 p.m. to the 400 block of Lambeth Drive, a residential street off North Tryon Street, not far from Eastway Drive. There they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound. Paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene.

Police have not described what may have led to the shooting or given a description of a possible suspect. Investigators, including CMPD's gang and K-9 units, responded to the scene.

Police said they are not releasing the victim's name until his family has been notified of his death.

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call 704-432-TIPS or Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600.
