Providence Day student advances to National History Bee

David Conlin, a seventh grade student at Providence Day, placed first at the Carolinas regional contest for the National History Bee March 22.

The middle school competition was held at R.P. Dawkins Middle in South Carolina. Conlin will be the only student from the Carolinas to attend the National History Bee, in May in Washington D.C. The final match will be broadcast on the History Channel and the grand prize winner will receive $50,000 in scholarship money.
