THE REASON: The Venus Chapter of the national service group Daughters of Penelope hosted the benefit for the Carolinas Breast Cancer Fund at the Levine Cancer Institute.

THE BUZZ: Breast cancer survivor Alex Tatsis gave a testimonial that hit home on the importance of monthly breast self-exams coupled with annual mammograms…Natalie Pasquarella of WSOC-TV and Dan Mauney emceed the fashion show of clothes from Via Veneto…special guests included Nicky Stamoulis, the Daughters of Penelope grand president, who flew in from Florida for the event.
