Kings Drive Art Walk

Beach Party

Beach Fest Matthews

Beach Fest Matthews brings you the best parts of a beach trip – beach music, sand volleyball, carnival rides, shag dancing. Also enjoy boardwalk-style food vendors, kids’ crafts and activities, and many sponsor exhibits.

Tree-climbing

2012 Tree Climbing Competition

It’s free to watch 39 competitors, both men and women, from all over the world demonstrate their climbing skills using nothing but a rope and saddle. They’ll compete in five preliminary events on Saturday, with the top five competitors advancing to the finals on Sunday. If watching isn’t enough for you, you’re invited to participate in a free fun climb on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Goats

Green Goats and Gardens

Learn about the environment, participate in a bike rodeo, get a free bike safety inspection, participate in a bike/run duathlon and meet lots of goats.

BIKE! Charlotte

For 17 days starting Friday, BIKE! Charlotte will hold events designed to encourage and celebrate bike-riding in Charlotte: trail rides, repair clinics, bike rodeos, mountain bike clinics, etc. Anybody traveling with a bike from April 29-May 5 can ride CATS buses or LYNX trains for free.
