Beach Fest Matthews brings you the best parts of a beach trip beach music, sand volleyball, carnival rides, shag dancing. Also enjoy boardwalk-style food vendors, kids crafts and activities, and many sponsor exhibits.
2012 Tree Climbing Competition

Its free to watch 39 competitors, both men and women, from all over the world demonstrate their climbing skills using nothing but a rope and saddle. Theyll compete in five preliminary events on Saturday, with the top five competitors advancing to the finals on Sunday. If watching isnt enough for you, youre invited to participate in a free fun climb on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Green Goats and Gardens

For 17 days starting Friday, BIKE! Charlotte will hold events designed to encourage and celebrate bike-riding in Charlotte: trail rides, repair clinics, bike rodeos, mountain bike clinics, etc. Anybody traveling with a bike from April 29-May 5 can ride CATS buses or LYNX trains for free.
