Thoughts from Saturday’s third round at Quail Hollow

By Ron Green Jr.

Five things we learned in Saturday’s round:

1. Webb Simpson feels totally comfortable at his home course.

2. When Rory McIlroy gets it going, he makes it look so easy.

3. Phil Mickelson and Lee Westwood found their mojos playing together.

4. The par-3 17th hole offers better action from where it’s now played.

5. Golf is cruel as Stewart Cink’s closing double bogey showed.

Five things to watch in Sunday’s final round:

1. Will Simpson have a decided advantage in fan support?

2. How much will a 10-15 mile per hour north wind change how Quail Hollow plays?

3. Can Rickie Fowler find the low number that gets him his first tour win?

4. Will the tournament record of 16-under par be broken?

5. Can anyone outside the top six sneak in to win?
