Two volunteer opportunities:

Samaritan’s Feet is a nonprofit organization that provides shoes for children and adults who do not have shoes, locally and around the world. Teens can sign up to process shoes at the warehouse in two- to three-hour shifts, similar to Operation Christmas Child. Teens can also host a shoe drive. Samaritan’s Feet is always in need of new children-sized athletic shoes. Teens can also volunteer at a back-to-school shoe distribution to help children return to school in the fall with new shoes. To find out more about all these opportunities and to sign up, visit and click on “volunteer.”

The JLC WearHouse is an ongoing fundraiser that supports projects and placements of the Junior League of Charlotte, Inc. Teen volunteers can work with customers on the sales floor, assist and process donations, and price donated goods. Volunteers are welcome to work for school service hours during store hours. Teens must be at least 14; all younger than 18 must have a minor release form signed by a parent.

Contact Michele Stack, JLC WearHouse manager, to set up a date and time to volunteer: 1117 Pecan Ave., 704-377-1854. Hours of operation starting June 1 will be 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Monday-Saturday.
