Mother’s Day at the Garden

Moms get free admission to the garden 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. both days. In addition, the first 250 moms each day will receive a free potted plant. Every hour, on the hour, starting at 10 a.m., artist Bob Yost will offer Tiffany-style stained glass demonstrations, and artist Pat Groome will demonstrate mosaic art. Art pieces will also be available for sale.

Music

Charlotte Folk Society monthly gathering

It’s the Members’ Showcase this month, with talented members of the Charlotte Folk Society taking the stage. Doors open at 7 p.m. Refreshments, a song circle and jam sessions follow the concert.

Stroll through downtown Salisbury and enjoy live music, a free trolley ride, a drum circle, the Salisbury Symphony Musical Petting Zoo and plenty of activities for kids.

Hello Huntersville will feature live music, sidewalk chalk drawing, spin art, a dunk booth, the grand opening of Huntersville Market and more. Streets will be closed to traffic but open to festival-goers.

Mother’s Day Weekend at The Bechtler

Moms are offered free admission to The Bechtler Museum on Saturday and Sunday, as well as 10 percent off all purchases at the museum store. Among the highlights: “Picasso: Select Prints and Ceramics,” featuring a series of lithographs, etchings and ceramics by Pablo Picasso.
