Ten students from the Charlotte area, including six from Mecklenburg County, have been named winners of this year’s Park Scholarships from N.C. State University.

The scholarships pay the full cost of a four-year education and provide summer study opportunities and the chance to travel abroad for educational purposes.

The scholarships were established in 1996 in honor of the late Roy H. Park, a 1931 N.C. State alum who started the Park Foundation. There were 45 winners of the scholarship this year.

Mecklenburg County’s winners are Olivia Adams, who is from Charlotte but attending Cheltenham Ladies’ College in the United Kingdom; Emily Armstrong Baldrige, South Mecklenburg High; Jalen Madison Feaster, Mallard Creek High; Maggie Elaine Miller, Charlotte Catholic High; Parth Shah, Ardrey Kell High; and Marcel Raymond Souffrant, Charlotte Country Day.

Other area winners:

Burke County: Melissa Ann Pressley, Morganton Freedom High; Gaston County: Anna Katherine Paschall, Highland School of Technology; Lincoln County: Zachary Hill Fitzgerald, Lincolnton High; Wilkes County: Christopher Calvin Hayes, West Wilkes High.
