What does $1.6 million get you in Charlotte?

By Michael J. Solender
Correspondent

Just exactly what does $1.6 million dollars get for you in the Charlotte real estate market these days?

After Panthers quarterback Cam Newton recently plunked down that much on his new pad Uptown at The Trust condominiums, we wondered what that load of lettuce might get him in some other parts around the area.

We made a few assumptions about living requirements: A huge media-room for Cam to accommodate Madden NFL 13 cover rival Calvin “Megatron” Johnson when he visits and goes head to head with his host, an extra large trophy room for all the awards and double-wide linen closets for all Cam’s extra towels.

Realtor Rita Fleming-Johnson of Keller Williams said the luxury market in Charlotte has been trending higher the last few months. “If the larger banks remain committed to releasing bank-owned inventory slowly then we should see prices stabilize and sales continue to happen at a reasonable pace.”

Here’s a sample Fleming-Johnson found of properties for sale around $1.6 million:
