Police seek two in Monroe shooting

Monroe police are searching for two men charged with attempted first degree murder in connection with a shooting Friday night in northwest Monroe.

The suspects are Lamont Donte Parham, 21, and Derrious Trumaine Barrett, 26. A third suspect also charged with attempted first degree murder, 25-year-old Desmond Parham, turned himself in to police. He is currently being held in Union County Jail under $100,000 bond.

Police said the shooting was reported just before 7 p.m. Friday, on Guild Street, near North Charlotte Avenue and Icemorlee Street. Officers arrived to find a man suffering a gunshot wound to the back of his head. He was transported to Carolinas Medical Center-Main in Charlotte, where he was treated and released.
