Students at St. Mark Catholic School in Huntersville recently collected $61,000 to go toward the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation’s Kids Walk Program.

Not only was St. Mark named the top fundraising school in the United States, but its students raised more money than any school in the history of the program. The money will go toward research for Type 1 diabetes.

And the entire student body at Charlotte Christian recently provided food and supplies for the Harvest Center at the sixth annual Tailgate and Donate event, breaking school records with 18,900 take-out trays that will be used for hot meals, and 954 jars of peanut butter and jelly.

Students adopted the Harvest Center as their local missions project, with the goal of filling the truck each year with valuable supplies.
