Nightlife tends to be more fun during this time of year, thanks to the Carolina weather. You may sweat through your work clothes in the afternoon, but after the sun goes down, it gets cooler – both literally and figuratively. Summer dresses come out of the closet, there’s no need for coat check, and best of all, you can party outdoors.

The final MetLive party of the spring at Metropolitan (1224 Metropolitan Ave.) is Thursday. The midtown shopping center, home to Trader Joe’s and Target, transforms its patio area into a chill outdoor party and feels like a mini Alive After Five. Popular Charlotte acoustic band Simplified is performing, so expect a good-sized crowd. 6:30-9:30 p.m. No cover. 704-906-2929.

Warm weather will bring the bartenders out onto Pavilion at EpiCentre (210 E. Trade St.) for “Silent Disco,” a DJ series set for every Friday in June. There is no speaker system at this disco – music is broadcast via an FM transmitter with the signal picked up by wireless headphones worn by partygoers. Set to spin this Friday night are national Red Bull DJs Tony Arzadon and Dani Deahl, along with local DJs DJ Ro$hay and Supa Skip. 8 p.m.-2 a.m. No cover. http://pavilionatepicentre.com.

There’s also plenty of outdoor fun to be had at Ziggy’s Grille House in Fort Mill (2150 Gold Hill Road), which features a three-level patio and an outdoor bar. Three-piece cover band Crashbox plays at 9:30 p.m. Saturday, and rocker Chris Sanchez goes acoustic on the patio at 3 p.m. Sunday. No cover. 803-802-0707.

The Concord Nightlife Crawl feeds partiers free beer on a Ragin Uptown party bus and a tour of Concord bars including Piano Man, Pippas Sports Cafe and Tavern at the Mills, where beer and drink specials will abound. Registration is from 6:30-7:30 p.m. at Three Monkeys in Harrisburg (4350 Main St.). Till 2 a.m. $10 per crawler or two for $15. http://concordnightlifecrawl.eventbrite.com.

If you haven’t checked out Leroy Fox since it opened in January (at 705 S. Sharon Amity Road, former home of Hotel Charlotte), then now is a good time to do so. They have live music every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday starting at 9 p.m. – and they really know how to fry a chicken. No cover. 704-366-3232.
