Can you believe it’s June already? The year is already half way over! Where did 2012 go? Well, they say time flies when you’re having fun so have another fun weekend full of Charlotte nightlife.

Thursday

Want to be the next Emily Maynard? Well your chance is Thursday at Alive After Five. ABC’s “The Bachelor” is coming to cast for next season. They’ll be holding auditions from 5–9 p.m. inside Suite, perfect if you need a drink to garner some liquid courage or lose your common sense all together in order to audition.

Friday

There’s something about a five-star steakhouse serving street meat that sounds yummy. Taste of Charlotte is basically a massive picnic through the streets of uptown, featuring a wide array of local restaurants. It’s free, but you must buy tokens for food. June 8-9, 11 a.m.–11 p.m. (and 11 a.m.–6 p.m. Sunday) www.tasteofcharlotte.com.

Friday Live at the Factory, NC Music Factory’s remix of Alive After Five, with live national bands is held every Friday on the Fountain Plaza Stage (1000 NC Music Factory Blvd.), which you may recognize from an episode of “The Bachelorette.” This Friday the line-up is Los Lonely Boys with Chris Cook. 6–11 p.m. $5. For a full band schedule go to ncmusicfactory.com.

Over on Fifth Street is another Friday Festival. Fridays on 5th, a block party from Dandelion Market to The Breakfast Club and everything in between. It’s free to reserve your spot at rockhouseevents.com.

Saturday

Check out Big Momma’s House of Burlesque at Visulite Theatre (1615 Elizabeth Ave.). Sometimes it’s fun to shake things up a bit, without being the one doing the shaking. 8 p.m. $18. 704-358-9200.

Gorilla Music Battle of the Bands Final Round is at Tremont Music Hall (400 West Tremont). Thirteen bands will play for the championship. 4 p.m. $12. 704-343-9494.
