Your morning traffic update

A few trouble spots have developed at 8:30 a.m. on Charlotte-area roadways.

There are no major problems, but police are reporting a few collisions. There also are the customary congestion-related slowdowns.

Here are the trouble spots:

Providence Road at Queens Road ... A collision with moderate delays for inbound Providence.

I-85, Cabarrus County ... Very slow traffic southbound, due to construction. Average speeds are 10 to 20 mph around Poplar Tent Road and Bruton Smith Boulevard.

I-85 northbound ... A collision at the Mecklenburg-Gaston county line, but the vehicles have been moved to the shoulder. This is between Sam Wilson Road and the Mount Holly exit.

I-485, south Mecklenburg ... The inner loop is slow from Providence Road to I-77, due to congestion.

Pineville-Matthews Road, near the Arboretum ... Very slow traffic is reported approaching the Arboretum from the Matthews area. Average speeds are 10 to 15 mph, but no collision is reported in the area.

U.S. 321 southbound, Gastonia ... Congestion causing slowdowns approaching I-85. Average speeds are 25 mph.

North Sharon Amity Road ... A collision at Kimmerly Glen Drive, with minor delays.
