Wow. So much for my grand plan to blog while I was out of town. Not so much, huh?Right before I took leave of my blogging duties for an epic road trip with my hubby (sans kids), I accepted an invitation to check out a new addition to Beauty Brands stores across the country. I dropped in to the Birkdale location just a few days before I skipped town, and I was completely impressed. So impressed, in fact, I was sending Did you know texts to girlfriends while in the store.
The national chain, perhaps most well known for their salon products and services, has carved out a good chunk of space for The Studio, a place for product junkies (like myself) to indulge in prestige beauty brands such as Philosophy, DuWop, Smashbox, Stila, Murad, Dermalogica, Tarte and many more.
The Studio is staffed by beauty experts well-versed in the product lines, and they are there to assist with demonstrations and offer tips. I mentioned coveting Adeles cat eye liner to beauty specialist Champa Thao, but told her I had a hard time keeping the line straight on top of my lid. Champa offered suggestions on how to do it, including making dots and then connecting them. As Oprah would say, it was a true lightbulb moment for me.
My other current beauty obsessions were well represented, including false eye lashes from Japonesque and nail polish from Deborah Lippmann, by far my most favorite line for durable wear.
So I had to know what are the women of Beauty Brands Birkdale obsessed with at the moment? It was a unanimous vote for Dr. Brandt, especially his Pores No More cleansing line.
I am intrigued, and I will be back to Beauty Brands, for sure.
