1 dead in Salisbury fire

SALISBURY -- One man died in a house fire Monday morning in Salisbury, fire officials say.

The victim was identified as Larry Knox, 53.

The fire was reported about 7:15 a.m. at a residence in the 200 block of Ludwick Avenue in south Salisbury, authorities say. A neighbor called 911 to report a fire nearby.

Firefighters found flames inside the house when they arrived, and they quickly put out the blaze. But they discovered the body of a man near the rear door, according to authorities. Nobody else was in the house, they say.

Damage was contained to the interior of the house. The identity of the victim has not been released, and crews are working to determine the cause.
