The winner: I love to arrange my cut flowers with the long-stemmed ones in the center, but always had difficulty keeping the center flowers standing tall.
Now I put a bud vase inside a wide-mouth vase, and fill both with water. First, I arrange the long-stemmed flowers in the bud vase, which keeps them bunched together and standing erect.
Then I place the shorter flowers in the wide-mouth vase all around the bud vase. The arrangement is beautiful, stays as I arranged it, lasts a long time, and no one knows two vases are being used. Joan Gauker, Monroe
