Gaston County police are searching for a 22-year-old man wanted in a fatal shooting near Kings Mountain.

The victim has been identified as Larry Jabar Hall, 29, police said.

Authorities said they were notified around 10:20 p.m. Thursday about a possible shooting near Kings and J.E. Herdon Access roads, which is just outside the Kings Mountain city limits. Officers arriving at the scene found Hall’s body lying beside the road, police said.

On Friday, police said they’d issued a warrant for the arrest of Tyrone Marcus Cannedy. He remained at large Friday afternoon.

Records show Cannedy is a felon who has previously been convicted of attempted common law robbery and drug possession.

Anyone with information about the case or Cannedy’s whereabouts is asked to call Gaston County police at 704-866-3320, or Crime Stoppers of Gaston County at 704-861-8000.

CrimeStoppers may pay a reward of up to $1,000 for information that leads to an arrest, police said.
