Jason Jefferson of Mallard Creek High won a National Achievement $2,500 Scholarship. Jason hopes to study engineering.
The National Achievement program, conducted by the National Merit Scholarship Corp., is a privately financed academic competition established in 1964, to honor scholastically talented African-American youths.
The program provides scholarships to a number of the most outstanding participants in each annual competition. Award recipients are judged based on their record of accomplishments and potential for success in college.
