Even though the temperature soared over 100 degrees Friday, the Hunk of Brawley School Road was out running.
So how’s a guy stay hydrated on one of Charlotte’s busiest thoroughfares on the hottest day of the year? The hunk, otherwise known as model Richard Lima, bought a used baby stroller for $35 and, instead of a baby, carries water and nutritional supplements in it.
A woman e-mailed the Observer, curious about what her glamorous-looking neighbor was up to. The Observer profiled Lima last July after he became such a familiar sight on busy Brawley School Road.
“I’m running more miles and I can’t get enough stuff in my backpack – it gets too heavy,” Lima said. He’s training for a 102-mile run to Black Mountain to raise money and awareness for shelter animals who need adoption.
Pushing a stroller, he gets even more strange looks. But as a fashion model, Lima is used people staring at him.
