Philip O. Berry Academy of Technology honors graduate Dominick Harris is bound for the UNC Chapel Hill, where he plans to major in biology, attend medical school and study orthopedics. He established a service at Berry that will help others’ educations as well.

Last year, Dominick organized a group of upperclassmen to help students prepare for college entrance exams, as well as school and End-of-Course tests. Berry SAT Prep Club students met twice a week, working on testing strategies and reviewing lessons and assignments. Although tutoring programs are available at the school, Dominick said students learn differently from their peers.

Dominick also won medals in state and all-conference track competitions. He finished third in the nation at the USA Track and Field Junior Olympics in the 4x8 100-meter relay.
