Back to Monday! Have you found your motivation yet? What about snacks? Found your easy fix yet?
This past weekend my fiancé and I traveled down to West Palm (where we are originally from) to attend my beautiful friend Katie and her new husband Nick's wedding. I met Katie back in high school through some mutual friends. She got engaged very shorty after I did, so we've been able to vent and plan back and forth with each other even from afar. I've got to say, it has been really nice to have a friend going through the planning at the same time. We were able to understand each other when something just wasn't going right or shot ideas back and forth from Pinterest. In the end, her wedding was SO perfect for her and her husband (Um, corn hole? Too cute!), which I hope I'm able to do for our wedding. There are so many times where I think brides do things because they feel like they have to. I say, forget it! It's you and your future husband's special day so make it your own -- regardless of what friends or family think is the "right" way. To Katie and Nick, congratulations again! The trip from Charlotte to West Palm Beach, Florida, was quite the haul. Jeff and I left Friday morning around 5 a.m. and made the 10-hour journey to the sunshine state. I'd like to say we bonded during that time, but I was knocked out cold most of the trip :) I'm glad I slept though, because (maybe it's just me) there is something about long car rides that makes me want to snack. Maybe it's boredom, but as soon as we hit the highway, we've got to stop to feed the monster. I'd like to say I did pretty well because I did nap so much, but we stopped and had a few not-too-friendly road trip snacks. I'll have to live with the repercussions on Friday's monthly weigh-in but it was a lesson learned. Just like I plan out my meals when I'm at home, I need to do the same when traveling. Have the same problem when traveling? Here's a neat little article I found that provides some great snack ideas.I'm glad we were able to see family and friends back home, but I'm ready to get back to Flex + Fit and get back into my routine. I'll use this minor setback weekend as a reason to work even harder!Happy 4th of July friends!World peace and skinny jeans,Sheri xo
