Wreck temporarily shuts down I-77; 1 hurt

A multi-vehicle accident temporarily shut down Interstate 77 in south Charlotte Monday afternoon.

The wreck occurred shortly before 12 p.m. on I-77 northbound near the Remount Road (exit eight).

One person was seriously hurt in the accident and was taken to Carolinas Medical Center. It appeared a tractor-trailer was involved in the wreck.

Crews helped clear the scene and re-open all three lanes around 12:15 p.m.
