Police charge suspect with breaking into a truck in Echo Hills

Charlotte-Mecklenburg police say they have arrested Travis McNair, 32, and charged him with larceny from a truck in the Echo Hills community last week.

According to police, officers responded to a home on of Chipley Avenue regarding a vehicle break-in around 2 a.m. June 29.

The victim stated he woke to hear his dogs barking and told officers he saw McNair inside the victim’s truck. He called 911 and detained McNair till officers arrived. According to police, officers observed the passenger-side window of the victim’s truck has been broken and a bag of tools belonging to the victim was on the ground next to the vehicle.

Police said McNair was charged with breaking and entering of a motor vehicle and larceny. Police said McNair had a previous arrest history in Mecklenburg County on charges including: assault, possession of a firearm by felon and breaking and entering. Hilary Trenda
