Here’s how the following institutions will observe the Fourth of July holiday Wednesday:

• Federal offices: Closed.

• N.C., S.C. state offices: Closed.

• Charlotte city offices: Closed.

• Mecklenburg County offices: Closed.

• Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools: Closed.

• Buses, light rail: Open, operating on the Sunday schedule.

• Charlotte Mecklenburg libraries: All branches will be closed.

• Mecklenburg County Solid Waste administrative offices and facilities: Closed. Compost Central will be open 7 a.m. - 4 p.m.

• Garbage pickup: Normal schedule.

• Banks: Closed.

• Mecklenburg ABC Stores: Closed.

• S.C. ABC stores: Open.

• FedEx: Closed. FedEx Custom Critical will be available and some FedEx office locations will offer modified hours.

• UPS: Closed. UPS Express Critical will be available.

• U.S. Postal Service: Closed.
