The Whitewater River Jam Concert Series continues with New York City-based singer-songwriter Riley Etheridge Jr. Admission is free, but parking is $5 and normal charges apply for rafting and other activities.

Learn how to make a shelter with limited supplies. This workshop is intended for ages 8 and older. It’s free but there are limited spots, so register online or by calling Reedy Creek Nature Center.

Locally, the Mint museums, Bechtler, Levine Museum of the New South and Gantt Center are participating. Bring a Bank of America or Merrill Lynch credit or debit card for admission. Note: Fundraising events, special exhibitions and ticketed shows are excluded.

Get a free burrito from Moe’s with the purchase of a drink when you order from Moe’s new app. The free app, available for iPhone and Android, lets you order and pay ahead of time, bypassing the line when you arrive. From Sunday through July 22, if you use the app to order a burrito and a large drink from any of Charlotte’s 12 locations and use the code FREE, the burrito is free.

In the past few months, 7-Eleven convenience stores have started popping up in Charlotte, just in time to celebrate 7-Eleven’s birthday on Saturday. Get a free 7.11-ounce Slurpee drink at participating stores from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., while supplies last. I suggest calling the store closest to you to double check if it’s participating.

‘The Neverending Story’
