Who says Friday the 13th is unlucky? For starters, it’s Cow Day at Chick-fil-A, where you can get a free meal if you dress up like a cow. So there’s that, plus lots more fun stuff to do after dark this weekend.

Friday the 13th Balloon Drop: Whisky River (210 E. Trade St.) will drop from the ceiling balloons filled with more than $5,000 in cash and prizes. Winning free stuff will definitely debunk any myths about the 13th being unlucky, as will getting free cover by RSVPing to 980-333-3923. Doors open at 5 p.m. thewhiskyriver.com.

Horror Haus: You can let your freak flag fly on Friday the 13th at Dharma Lounge (1440 S. Tryon St.) during a party hosted by Your Dirty Habit. I think the name says it all. 10 p.m.-2 a.m. 704-334-8336.

NoDa Gets Weird: It’s happening at the Chop Shop (399 E. 35th St.), where nine different electro-bass acts will celebrate weirdness. There also will be a “Half Christmas” party on the patio. Weird, huh? Doors open at 8 p.m. $8-11. 704-765-2467.

Saturday

The Chuckleheads Comedy Improv Musical Variety Extravaganza: You never know what kind of comedy you’re going to get at an improv show, but you can always guarantee it’ll be funnier than an Adam Sandler movie. The Charlotte-based Chuckleheads troupe performs this show at Dilworth Neighborhood Grille (911 E. Morehead St.). 8-10 p.m. $10-15. 704-301-1564.

Latin Moon over the EpiCentre: A Latin dance performance showcase and “Silent Salsa” on the rooftop Pavilion (210 E. Trade St.). will feature DJ Carlos Carmonia, DJ Skip Lopes, and DJ Mambosoul, and lots of salsa – served with mambo and bachata rather than chips. 8 p.m. $15. 704-207-4097.
