Today’s forecast: Cloudy, with possible storms

The Charlotte region is in store for another afternoon of slightly cooler-than-normal temperatures on Thursday, with scattered showers and thunderstorms possible during the day.

Light drizzle and mist is already coating windows on your morning drive. More showers, including storms, is forecast to move into the area after 10 a.m., according to the National Weather Service. Officials said some of the storms could produce very heavy rain at times, and some localized flooding is possible.

Thursday’s high is only expected to climb to 81 degrees in Charlotte. The normal high is 89.

The chance for rain and thunderstorms will linger in the region over the next few days. Afternoon highs also will begin to rise again, with temperatures forecast to reach 89 degrees on both Saturday and Sunday.
