Suspect leaving break-in looks into camera

Police are searching for a man who looked straight into a surveillance camera as he left the scene of a break-in this week in Charlotte’s Elizabeth neighborhood.

The crime was reported at 1501 East 7th Street, a commercial building that houses Elizabeth Psychology Group and HP Cantrell and Company Insurance.

The break-in happened between 5:30 p.m. Monday and 7:40 a.m. Tuesday, according to a Charlotte-Mecklenburg police report. The suspect entered one of the businesses through an unlocked side window and then took various items.

An interior door was kicked in, police said.

Police said the surveillance photo of the man was taken as he exited one of the businesses.

Anyone who can help identify the suspect is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600.
