Austen Poteet, a rising senior at Cannon School who lives in the University City area, earned the highest possible composite score 36 on the ACT college admission and placement exam.
On average, according to the ACT organization, fewer than one-tenth of 1 percent of all test takers get a top score.
The ACT consists of tests in English, mathematics, reading and science. Each test is scored on a scale of 1-36, and a students composite score is the average of the four test scores.
