Interim city budget director wins promotion

Randy Harrington, who has been the city of Charlotte’s interim budget director since January, was named the official budget director Friday.

Harrington, as a Budget and Evaluation Director, will prepare the city’s operating budget as well as Charlotte’s five-year capital investment plan.

Harrington moved into the job in early 2012 after the previous budget director, Ruffin Hall, was promoted to an assistant city manager position.

Prior to joining the city of Charlotte in 2007, Harrington was the Budget and Performance Manager for the City of Concord.
