CHARLOTTE SouthPark Mall officials said Sunday they anticipate opening the stores impacted by Friday's flood as early as Tuesday.

On Friday, heavy rain from the afternoon storms collapsed portions of the ceiling.

Emergency crews evacuated the mall and there were no injuries. Images from inside the mall showed a couple inches of water on the floor.

There were also reports of flooded vehicles in the mall parking lot.

Sunday officials released this statement to NewsChannel 36:

"Following the water damage that occurred Friday afternoon, SouthPark is pleased to report that a substantial number of stores in the wings minimally affected are open for business. This includes all department stores, restaurants, and a significant portion of the stores between Belk, Nordstrom and Neiman Marcus.

"The stores impacted by the flooding are in process of restoration and are expected to be open by Tuesday morning. Additionally, service providers are working around the clock to repair the damage caused by flooding -- and return the mall to its pristine condition."
