Police probe homicide in southwest Charlotte

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police were investigating a homicide Tuesday night in southwest Charlotte.

Officers responded to a call about 7:30 p.m. from a resident who had gone to check on a neighbor at 11339 Red Hickory Lane, off Steele Creek Road. Police say the resident discovered that the neighbor was dead and called 911.

There were signs of foul play at the scene, police say, and detectives from the homicide unit were canvassing the neighborhood. The name of the victim was not released and other details were not available.

Anyone with information is asked to call 704-432-8477 and speak to a homicide detective. Staff reports
